The Access to Finance Specialist is expected to liaise and work closely with Sustainable Harvest Rwanda and its members in scaling up the implementation and monitoring of programs that enhance economic empowerment of women within the cooperatives and will report to the East Africa Regional Director. 5 years of experience working with in Financial and development areas is required.

Specific tasks and responsibilities

Ensure and prepare business plans and forecast production of SHR beneficiary
Ensure SHR beneficiary are complying with National and international financial lenders;
Develop and Train women in financial Management and bank requirements.
Sensitize and engage cooperative partners and beneficiary communities through complementary training in coffee as Sustainable Family Business.
Coordinate trainings, Gender Equality, Access to Finance, Family Planning, Family conflict resolution, Parents Evening Program and Gender Based Violence for women beneficiaries of SHR programs;
Mobilize and Facilitate women to work with financial institutions;
Update and disseminate policies, programs and strategies for women;
Participate in preparations of events and program related to Family campaign, International Rural Women’s Day (IRWD), International women’s Day (IWD)
Prepare and compile reports on the status women empowerment;
Participate in meetings of stakeholders related to women empowerment;
Perform other duties as may be assigned by SHR.
Qualifications 


The incumbent must have proficient knowledge, skills and attitudes in the following areas:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or any other related qualification.
At least 5 years of experience. Knowledge of one or more accounting software packages and working with cooperatives.
Good knowledge in working with cooperatives
Computer literacy, specifically MS Excel for Windows
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information and methods of checking what has been submitted is correct
Analytical and problem solving skills; decision making skills
Effective written, verbal and listening communications skills in English and Kinyarwanda
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy; good planning and organizational skills
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills; professional appearance and manner
Enthusiasm for developing and implementing systems in a growing organization at start-up phase

The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of the ACCESS TO FINANCE SPECIALIST. The incumbent must also demonstrate the following personal attributes:
